Frederick Van Patten Chapter, NSDAR
Promoting historic preservation, education and patriotism in our lives and community

The ladies of the Frederick Van Patten Chapter proudly sponsor the display at the local library honoring Korean Veterans of White County. Many members contributed items, pictures, and memorabilia from their families to piece this together. The display will be at the Public Library for the month of November.

The Ladies of the Frederick Van Patten Chapter participated in many activities for the month of October. The chapter members celebrated the NSDAR Day of Service by volunteering to rake leaves, pick up trash and clean tombstones at the Gum Springs Cemetery. Following protocols on gravestone cleaning, many veteran tombstones received a much needed bath. Among the tombstones cleaned was that of Joshua Hartzog, who was a Medal of Honor Recipient! (see picture). The following weekend, chapter member Jocelynn regaled the members with the Boston Tea Party history and the push for it to be be a non-violent act of rebellion.
