On January 8, the Frederick Van Patten Chapter of Searcy met online via zoom. After the business portion, the chapter was able to learn more information on NSDAR’s history and procedures of the Service to America program and the positive impact it has has on communities and the DAR daughters. Other points of interest that were spoken on were the history and purpose of the USO, British oceanographer Arthur Doodson and his invention that assisted with D-Day, and veteran and Tribal leader Marcella LaBeau, of the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe.
