February

Our ladies have been dedicated over the last couple of months in demonstrating their love for the NSDAR. We had a wonderful meeting that contained an informative presentation about “The Poppy Lady.” We also discussed the topic of women’s health, especially heart health, and tips to help aid ourselves to a healthy heart. We also took a moment to recognize Junior member Deena with the Outstanding Junior Member award. We are so blessed that she works so hard to be so active with our chapter, especially with a newborn in tow! We ended the meeting in taking a moment to pause and celebrate the life of one of our Associate members who had recently passed. Mrs. Treat was a wonderful individual and will be sorely missed.

Several of our ladies also had the opportunity to partake in a celebration tea party for one of the ASDAR chapters. Multiple chapters have had the blessing of celebrating milestones of their chapter establishment this year, and we hope to be able to follow their example one day! Pictured below are just two of the many celebrations that were attended.

January

Our January meeting was to update members on the committees and ways to aid in participating in various ones, like conservation (putting out birdseed or bird water, planting pollinator plants, “No Straw September”, etc), Service to Veterans (volunteer at an establishment that serves veterans), and many other committees that are available. One of our members discussed her work with the Literacy program and how reading to the classrooms has also enriched her life as well as the students.

December

December was a fun month as all the members had worked hard on a surprise baby shower for one of our Junior members. Deena gave birth a couple of weeks later to a healthy boy. We also had a great time being caught up with information from the NSDAR as we closed out the year, and finished the meeting with a delicious potluck and chatter!
